Life has been such an adventure since I last wrote to you all. I’m currently sitting on a coach bus heading back to Boston from the NB Collegiate Invitational at The Armory in NYC. With about an hour to go I figured I’d take the time to get you all up to speed! When I post a video later on you’ll notice I’m sporting a Greater Boston Track Club singlet (let me know if I look good in red?) I joined last week and am so excited to be a part of a great team. They’ve been so supportive in my endeavors on the track and I’ve been honored to represent them for the past couple of weekends.

I had such a blast in New York!! Its always so much fun to race on my home track (NYC all day) and see all of the officials, old rivals, old friends and coaches. Its like a family reunion. Its crazy to think about how many hours I spent with those people between the ages of 14-18, it really made and still makes all the difference knowing I have their support. As a fun surprise my Duke family was in town for the race as well – so great to hang out with you all at the hotel and track. Y’all make me miss wearing Duke blue, you make me so proud! Good luck in three weeks at ACCs!!! I’m so bummed I can’t go to cheer, what are the chances that ACC Championships come to Boston the same weekend I get to go to USATF Indoor Championships?? Love you guys, but I’m hoping to grab a PR and a tan in Albuquerque ;-)  Speaking of which, I can’t believe Indoor season is almost over! After today I’m racing next Friday at BU Valentine Classic then its off to New Mexico on the 23rd. When I get back it’ll be Outdoor. Weird! Indoor is hands down my favorite season, so I’m always sad to see it slip away so quickly.

As far as racing, I was really happy with the 500m I ran last Friday at BU Terrier Classic. Went through in 56 feeling great and ended up with a 1:12.07. Its nice to know my speed is in good shape, and now I just need to get back in the groove of executing races well. At the end of January I ran a rust buster 2:08 from the front by myself so today in NYC was a one second improvement (2:07.07?) but I’d prefer to be in at least 2:05/2:04 land around now, so look out for a monster opening quarter next Friday at BU. Hopefully Flotrack will be there live streaming and you all can watch! Another plus to racing at The Armory was that MY MOMMY was there, who shared with me today (she’s terrible at keeping surprises) that she’s going to come to USA Indoor Champs with me!!! YAY. It just so happens that I was going to go across the country solo because not only is Karolina moving our life down the street (we bought a new apartment! Woohoo!) its the same weekend as ACCs so clearly my Boston College coaches can’t make it. Bummer. She’s never been to the Southwest before so I’m hoping we’ll have time to explore the area a bit! I hear Sante Fe is only 45min away.. If anyone has any New Mexican suggestions (food, adventures, attractions, beaches?) drop me a line!

Well I think that’s all for now, I’m going to track down videos from my last two meets and get em up here for you all to enjoy. Thanks for all your Facebook, Twitter, emails, comments, text messages and phone calls, I really love hearing from each and every one of you :)

Love and lactic acid,

Devo
