The current awesome levels in my life right now are truly too much to handle. I am floored by the overwhelming amount of support and love you all are sending my way. I am so grateful for each and every text, phone call, facebook comment, wall post, and telekinetic good luck vibes y’all are sending me. I feel so incredibly loved.
So here’s what’s going on. After 9 years of committing to this sport, my PR of 2:03.45 from last year qualified me to be in the field this Friday at 5pm at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
This is so surreal. I literally just got off a plane from two weeks of racing in Indiana on Sunday and am going back across the country tomorrow. OUT OF CONTROL. As crazy insane as my life is right now, I want to make sure you all can keep up with me this week!
First off, have you visited www.fnd.us/c/8KED0 ?? I’d really appreciate it if you could contribute to my Trials Fundraiser – this stuff is expensive, yo. Tell your friends and fam!
Secondly, this website will be very helpful to you – TrackTownUSA ! It truly has everything you need to know. Here’s a quick guide to how its gonna go down:
“Tomorrow: I fly to Eugene, and go to sleep immediately.
Thursday: I pinch myself and think of the kid in the YouTube video wondering, “Is this real life!?”
Friday: Same emotions as Thursday, but racing at 5pm PST. Only 16 advance from the original field of 32. Top 4 in each heat, and next 4 fastest times.
Saturday: Same emotions as Friday, but (hopefully) racing at 4:30pm PST. Only 8 advance from the semi final of 16. Top 4 in each heat.
Sunday: Reeeeelax maybe explore Eugene a lil/ watch some races?
Monday: Racing at 6:50pm PST, and HOLY SHIT I made it to the final round?!?!!?” Top three qualify for the London Team, provided that each person has run the Olympic A Standard of 1:59.90 prior to the Olympic Trials or at during Olympic Trials competition. Anyone feel a four second PR coming on??
When I made this website last summer I never really expected the countdown would ever run out. Now I’m sitting on my couch writing to you all 3 days away from the big dance. I feel a little Rebecca Black coming on, cause I just can’t wait for Friday, Friday!
Here is the TV Schedule - http://www.usatf.org/calendars/TVSchedule.asp
Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun, looking forward to the weeeekend!
Hugs and hydration,
PS huge shout out to @deniseworden for the beyond sweet photos all over this website, loving the new olympic trials flavor!
